I love to travel and particularly on a cruise ship. I’m always looking for the cheapest way to vacation. I’m not big on cold weather, but I would love to try an Alaskan cruise, just to do something different. Your article had some really great information I can use. Thanks!

Great article! I believe you have covered everything anyone would need to know! Where I live there are no major airlines, I have to drive to Kansas City or St. Louis. A nearby town now offers flights to St. Louis on a small airplane. I’ve heard it works well. Do you book flights from small airports as well as large ones? With gas prices on the rise I would imagine flying is the best bet now for travel! Again, thanks for the tons of information!

Thank you Brenda for your comments. What town do you live in? Your town and small nearby airport might be covered by CheapOair’s wide range of airlines (even small ones) that they serve.

    Mike,
I always take one trip per year with the family. We have driven the last two years. This year we are going to fly to Vegas to go to the Grand Canyon. I think I will use some of your tips in this article for a discount on my tickets.
It is such a long trip to any airport from my house, over an hour, that I leave my car there when I fly. This leaves another bill for my travel.
i do have a friend that gives me free tickets on an airline that serves the midwest, we went to Chicago a couple of years ago, the rental car was the most expensive thing on that trip. What do you recommend for controlling cost when renting a car when flying.

Thanks for the comment. Rent the car for the week. Smaller cars are cheaper. Be sure to shop around for the best deal.

These are all great tips, and always good to know with the budget airlines, what “extras” you will be paying for. I kind of did a comparison of a budget flight to a “normal” flight. The budget flight did not really end up being any less with the cost of the carry on luggage, the seat selection, and then not even drinks are free on board. You do really have to look at this from all angles. There are some budget airlines that I just refuse to fly with because they really don’t end up being less , and it bothers me that you can never get the great flight offers that they always advertise. Kind of like a bait and switch really. LOL

You are so right! You do have to shop around to get the best fare. I hate that the airlines charge for baggage, food and drinks now a days. They should be included in the fare like the “good old days”. I think the airlines should cut down on carry on bags. Some of these are almost as big as regular luggage. The airlines biggest expense is fuel so why did they cut out food and sodas. Alcohol they always charged for. I think some foreign carriers still have food and soda on their flights. Just our domestic carriers are being cheap and not offering anything but a bag of peanuts! The airline mergers have destroyed competition between the airlines. A lot of good fares where eliminated in the process.

This is the first time I heard about CheapOAir so I went to see the website. For one, it’s easy to navigate. you can even call (toll free of course) for an exclusive flight deal. There are a lot testimonies about it that told stories of how excellent their customer service is.

This coming Christmas break, my husband and I are planning something big for the kids and I gotta show CheapOAir to him so we can have inexpensive vacation without compromising the fun..Thanks for sharing this to us. It gave us a better option

    Hi Mick!

I’ve always wondered how my brother and his friends were always able to get great airfares. Now I know. Sure they explained it to me…staying up late, hunting for fares, booking way in advance. Nothing I didn’t know before since I’ve also been able to find some interesting discounts and promotions. The difference is how often they are able to get great discounts, certainly better than what I’ve found in the past. And you said it best:

“Be a savvy traveler and do your homework…Most importantly, the key to booking cheap airline fares is the willingness to travel at off-peak hours, off-peak days and at certain times, last minute!”

Guess I gotta get more serious about airfare hunting if I want those cheap fares you are talking about!

Thanks for sharing this great information. Got some homework to do!

Thank you, Luis, for your comments. Yes, you do need to do some research on getting the best fares. Also, you need to be flexible on the days and times that you travel. CheapOair has some great fares if you watch what the airlines are doing. Best if you can look at where you want to go, sit and wait for the fare to come down for you. CheapOair has a lot of options to select from in getting that low fare. Don’t forget the promo codes as well. They have plenty of them to use. I hope you will bookmark our website so that you can use it each and every time you travel.
